USFans spreadsheet vs Google Sheets — which format holds up
Both formats are lists of marketplace URLs. The difference is how fast a dead row hides, and whether you can browse by product type instead of a frozen tab.
What a “spreadsheet” actually is
In this hobby, a spreadsheet is not Excel bookkeeping. It is a community or editorial list of Taobao, Weidian, and 1688 product URLs that you paste into a shopping agent. Typical columns are a name, a thumbnail, a CNY or ~$ hint, and a link. Some tabs add “batch,” a Yupoo album, or “TTS” — none of which can see tomorrow’s 404.
USFans did not invent the format. The same pattern existed for other agents: a Google Sheet fans could duplicate, filter, and drop in Discord. People say “USFans spreadsheet” the way they used to say another agent’s spreadsheet: a link list aimed at that checkout, not a SKU the company sells. Definition: what is a USFans spreadsheet?
Why Google Sheets became the default
Sheets are free, open on a phone, and trivial to share. Google’s own help documents “anyone with the link” sharing and File → Make a copy. That is exactly how Discord lists spread: a viewer link, then a fork in someone else’s Drive. Each copy is a snapshot. The original author can update cells; your fork will not magically re-check Weidian. Force-copy links (the community /copy trick) make that freeze even more likely.
Easy to clone is also why the same dead item ids recirculate for years. Marketplaces identify products by item or offer ids. When the seller deletes the SKU, every copied row that still shows a green “in stock” fill is lying. Why links break.
Where Sheets fail quietly
| What you see in the tab | What is actually true |
|---|---|
| Green row, pretty thumbnail | The live PDP may already 404 |
| CNY or ~$ cell | Seller side only — not inbound, packed freight, or US duty |
| One giant “all finds” sheet | No lane unless someone built tabs by hand |
| “QC” column or Yupoo | Someone else’s order, not your warehouse set |
| Shipping note from 2024 | Lines, DIM weight, and de minimis rules have moved |
A web index does not freeze shops either. It does make it easier to re-open a live listing, scan shoes or hoodies, and bookmark a working catalog instead of last month’s copy. That is the job of spreadsheet link. Lane pages here are short previews, not the full catalog.
Spreadsheet cells also never included US clearance. “Keep the haul under $800” was Section 321 folklore. CBP suspended duty-free de minimis treatment in 2025. US after de minimis.
What a web index still is not
This hostname does not pay sellers, photograph parcels, or book couriers. USFans’ public App Store listing is the agent: source from China, HD photos before shipment, then freight. Paste a live product-detail URL — shop roots and screenshots fail. Which links paste.
What still belongs in your own notes
- Measurements you asked the warehouse to add.
- Which warehouse photos you approved, and why.
- Your three-line budget: items + inbound, extras, packed postage.
Do not treat this site — or any Sheet — as a warehouse. Walkthrough: how to buy.
Bookmark a catalog that still opens. Forked Sheets are souvenirs.
This post was rewritten from this site’s “what is a spreadsheet” and “spreadsheet link” guides. The Sheets half is Google’s own sharing and Make a copy behavior (forks do not re-validate marketplace URLs). Price and duty notes follow CBP de minimis and the two-stage agent bill. Not a Hipobuy clone and not an official Google or USFans product comparison table.
- Google Drive help — share files — Anyone-with-the-link sharing is how Discord spreadsheet URLs spread.
- Google Docs editors help — make a copy of a file — File → Make a copy creates an independent snapshot; it does not keep fetching live Weidian pages.
- CBP — end of the de minimis loophole — A Sheet’s ~$ column was never US duty-paid landed cost.
- App Store — USFans-Shop China, ShipAnywhere — The agent does checkout, HD inspection, and shipping — not the Google tab.
